Sheroes.in, an online community for jobs and careers for women in India, has raised US$1.8 million in Series A round of funding led by Lumis Partners.

The HR Fund, along with existing investor Quintillion Media, besides a few other angel investors, also participated in the round.

The funds will be used to improve technology, hire people and grow the business.

The funding comes exactly a year after the startup secured an undisclosed amount in angel funding from 500 Startups and Quintillion Media in August last year. Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Google India Chief Rajan Anandan, Flipkart Co-founder Binny Bansal and the then Chief People Officer Mekin Maheshwari, Freshdesk CEO Girish Mathrubhootham, Oracle’s Indus Khaitan and Capillary Technologies Founder Krishna Mehra had also participated in the round.

The portal offers a diverse range of engagement formats to women, including corporate jobs, returning professionals programmes, partner programmes, work from home jobs, part-time work, freelancing, franchising, mompreneur programmes and internship programmes.
