Its eclectic selection of startups span the gamut — from e-commerce to edtech
After a power-packed 14 weeks of startup bootcamp, Vietnam-based accelerator Topica Founder Institute (TFI) has unveiled the 14 graduates of its fifth batch.
The Vietnamese startups were first selected from 200 applicants, from which 35 startups were enrolled, then narrowed down to 14 startups. Here they are at a glance:
1. 2Give
It is an online flower delivery service with two offline flower shops in Hanoi. It also partners with several other flower shops in Southeast Asia. Currently, it has made over US$2.2 million since it launched over three years ago.
2. Monkey Junior
A language learning platform aimed at kids below the age of 10. It leverages on cognitive and contextual methods and features over 1,000 lessons. It currently has more than 800,000 downloads and is making an average of US$70,000 per month.

3. Nom Nom
Nom Nom aims to deliver an integrated platform in customer loyalty program, by combining automated marketing with user data analytics, that helps F&B outlets to enhance the in-store and out-store customer experience.
4. Cheffing
Cheffing is an online food delivery service that delivers ingredient packages designed specifically to the recipes of chefs. It has delivered more than 300 packages to date.
5. Falilo
Falilo’s app delivers relevant products to consumers’ needs based on geo-location and machine-learning.
6. Homily
Homily’s platform delivers an online 3D showroom allowing users to get a better perception of their interior design needs.
7. Wisami
Wisami wants to automate tax filing and other HR matters so business owners can focus on growing their revenue.

8. Moonwalkers
An IoT device, its technology combines hardware of everyday items and software via mobile to help users attain a better sleep experience through the monitoring of the room environment.
9. Fundy
Fundy is a social crowdfunding platform that optimises how users raise funds for their next social cause. Interested parties can either donate directly on the platform or make a purchase via its e-commerce feature.
10. NauBox
NauBox is a meal kit delivery service. Each package contains ingredients with step-by-step instructions.
11. Konexy
Konexy is an enterprise IoT solution, giving companies the tools to deploy their IoT applications for connected devices.

12. Posome
Posome wants to enhance your relationship with your close friends and loved ones through collaborating on photo and video collages.
13. Flextalk
Flextalk wants to make language learning more fun and interactive by matching people with common interests.
14. PayHub
Payhub is a payment intermediary to connect users and merchants with a variety of rewards such as cashback or redemption of goods and services.
Building the TFI mafia
The TFI has graduated 48 startups since it established in 2011 as part of the Topica Edtech Group. The accelerator programme operates in two countries: Thailand and Vietnam. It helps entrepreneurs leverage off its more than 1,850 graduate companies, founders, mentors and advisors.
According to TFI, its graduates — including Appota , S3, Kyna, Beeketing, and iMap — have raised a total of over US$15 million in funding with more than US$60 million in valuation.

“The TFI programme has been exceptional in providing genuine support for startup founders in Vietnam, allowing the founders to not just learn from local mentors, but also from thought leaders and players in the region,” said Victor Chua, Victor Chua, Investment Manager of Gobi Partners, in an official press statement.
Besides clinching significant funding, the graduates, dubbed the “TFI Mafia”, are also actively giving back to the institute; fostering an active alumni to enable new entrepreneurs.
