This time, the Launchpad Accelerator curriculum will also include machine learning and AI
Google Developers has announced the fourth batch of its accelerator programme the Launchpad Accelerator.
From Asia, the programme brings in six startups from India, three from Indonesia, one from Malaysia, two from the Philippines, two from Thailand, and one from Vietnam.
Apart from Asian and Latin American startups as per the previous batches, Launchpad Accelerator also includes startups from Africa and Europe for the first time.
“In addition to expanding our reach, we’re also expanding our curriculum. We’ll help the startups dig deeper into machine learning and AI, to help them leverage Google’s latest technologies to scale their apps,” said Roy Glasberg, Global Lead, Launchpad Program & Accelerator, in a press statement.

- “Super app” for fans of South Indian movies FastFilmz
- Credit underwriting and analytics platform for unsecured consumer lending IndiaLends
- Intelligent, big data platform that leverages crowd-sourced content to help long distance travellers RailYatri
- Intelligent solutions in food and retail powered by deep learning computer vision RecipeBook
- Smart screening solutions powered by data driven intelligence SigTuple

The startups will receive intensive mentoring from Google teams and experts from top technology companies and VCs in Silicon Valley. They will also receive equity-free support, credits for Google products, and continue to work closely with Google back in their home country during the six-month programme.
The class will begin on July 17 at the Google Developers Launchpad Space in San Francisco, and it will include two weeks of all-expense-paid training.
