There has been a lot of noise about Fintech the last few years, but how exactly is it faring now?

With over 5,000 new fintech companies and US$60 billion fintech venture funding over 10 years, the finance and banking industry has been (and is still being) shaken up by innovation. Traditional institutions are facing the reality that fintech startups bring – that their current processes is going the way of the dinosaur and that they need to jump in on innovating if they don’t want to get left behind. To illustrate, PayPal is now valued higher than banking giant American Express.
