Indonesian healthteach startup Alodokter has reportedly closed a US$7 million Series B funding round with participation from SoftBank Group, according to Dealstreet Asia.

Alodokter Founder and CEO Nathanael Faibis explained in an email to e27 that while the company has closed a new funding round, the reported details — such as the amount of investment and investors’ names — were incorrect.

Faibis also stated the company will release an official statement within the week.

Alodokter started out as a news portal that discusses health and well-being issues. In March 2016, it launched a mobile app that enables users to chat with a general practitioner. The platform combines the use of artificial intelligence and real doctor-patient interaction.

The company’s latest funding round was a US$2.5 million Series A funding round from existing investors Golden Gate Ventures, 500 Startups, and Lim Dershing.

The three investors invested in the company’s seed funding round in April 2015.

Alodokter had also cited plans to expand its services to the Southeast Asian market.

In Indonesia, the startup is competing with HaloDoc (which had raised a US$13 million Series A round that includes the participation of ride-hailing unicorn Go-Jek) and TanyaDok (a sister company of drug delivery service ProSehat).
