Former MaGIC founding CEO Cheryl Yeoh has been announced as the new director of Flexiroam, a telco company that enables customers to bypass roaming charges around the world.

Effective October 1, Yeoh will be holding the new position with Fong Wai Hong, a serial entrepreneur who was known as the Managing Director at Australia-based multi-niche online retailer OZHut.

According to a press statement by Flexiroam, Yeoh and Fong will be Independent Non-Executive Directors.

“Both Cheryl’s and Wai Hong’s expertise and experience will be a great boost to Flexiroam’s growth and expansion plans,” said Flexiroam Managing Director Jef Ong.

Apart from the new designation, Yeoh is also runs her own advisory and consulting services company, Cheryl Yeoh & Co., and also serves as Advisor to CEO & Acting CMO to Hack Reactor — a 12-week immersive school for software engineers with locations in California, Texas and New York.

When she announced in December last year she was leaving the MaGIC CEO position, Yeoh spoke to e27 about what she intended to do next. She hinted about founding her own company, while also stating she had already received various offers.

“Whatever I work on in the future will have global-level impact, not just regional [impact],” she said, adding that she will not be turning her back on the Southeast Asian region.
