IE Singapore signed MOUs with AIRMaker, NTUitive and 36Kr

Singapore government agency International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore)  has inked new partnerships that allow Singapore startups reach deeper into China’s tech ecosystem.

In an announcement today, IE Singapore said it has signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with IoT accelerator AIRmaker; NTUitive, the enterprise arm of NTU; and Chinese media platform 36Kr.

AIRmaker will focus on connecting Singapore deeptech and medtech companies to China They will provide resources such as co-working spaces, market network, support and training to facilitate growth and expansion in Beijing and other parts of China. The first run of the programme will benefit up to 10 companies working on AI solutions.

NTUitive will work with IE Singapore and AIRmaker to bring its research projects to market. 36Kr will be able to provide curated accelerator programmes, networks and access to in-market mentors, investors and partners and new technology partnerships in China.

“China has always been a market of interest to our Singapore companies, not only because of its sheer size, but because of the innovativeness and entrepreneurial spirit of the domestic market,” said Yew Sung Pei, Assistant CEO, IE Singapore, in an official press statement.

“Through our partnerships with AIRmaker, NTUitive and 36Kr, we hope to ease market access for our tech companies, connect them to the right networks and partners to learn from bigger players. This will eventually grow a stronger pool of Singapore tech companies and build our local tech sector.”

Previously, IE Singapore (which is due to be merged with SPRING Singapore next year) inked partnerships with two innovation-focussed organisations in Thailand, C asean and HUBBA.

The goal was to connect Singapore startups with in-market immersion programmes and co-working spaces in Bangkok.
