Eezee, a Singapore-based online B2B marketplace for industrial hardware and supplies, has secured an undisclosed sum in seed funding from Insignia Ventures Partners.

The investment will go towards Eezee’s business expansion in Asia, as the team focuses on acquiring corporate customers beyond Singapore. Insignia will also support the Eezee team in building connections and providing strategic counsel on various business, operations and marketing decisions.

By building a regional customer database, the startup also aims to support local business suppliers in going global.

Established in 2017, Eezee enables businesses to make small value purchases on industrial supplies such as safety gloves and helmets without the hassle of bureaucratic procurement processes and paperwork.

For buyers, Eezee is an online marketplace that consolidates a wide range of brands and products, so that they can easily compare prices between goods and suppliers. Its catalogue includes safety shoes, safety glasses, safety goggles, safety harness, personal protective equipment, power tools and hardware.

As for sellers, the platform helps them to manage sales orders and categorise their stock, as well as source other items from other suppliers when requested to by their customers.

“Cross-border trade is quite tricky. When you are looking to purchase supplies from another country, you are dealing with suppliers that you are unfamiliar with and are unsure of who to trust. We are building the first accredited database of suppliers in Southeast Asia, so that there is greater transparency when it comes to trade,” said Logan Tan, Co-founder of Eezee.

Eezee’s business buyer and supplier tools also aim to improve productivity by digitising companies’ supply chain processes. Some of these tools enable corporate customers to automatically match their purchase requirements to suppliers on the platform, and generate quotations via the platform.

Since its launch, Eezee has acquired over 5,000 business accounts in Singapore. It has also listed 600 distributors, suppliers, wholesalers on the platform with over 70,000 SKUs.

The startup earlier received a 6-figure grant from Enterprise Singapore.

“We have seen many startups attempt to plug the gap in building a marketplace for businesses. Eezee stands out in their ability to offer solutions for enterprises that boost productivity and save costs. The company’s financial track record is a testament to their product-market fit,” said Pinn Lawjindakul, Principal, Insignia Ventures Partners.
