Startup Terrace held launch ceremony on 17th Oct
Startup Terrace, an iconic international entrepreneurs’ village in Taiwan, was officially launched on 17 October. The ceremony showcased new and smart technologies of the resident startups and presented the fruits of startup operations in the futuristic city.

Linking up with communities, industries and global markets, and giving startups strong, deep roots in Taiwan

Since its inception, Startup Terrace has been home to more than 132 domestic and foreign accelerators and startups, where 99 of its resident startup businesses hail from 10 different countries.

The largest-scale startup village in Taiwan also boasts of a joint innovation centre as well as 15 international accelerators, making it the startup complex with the largest number of international accelerators in Taiwan.

Startup Terrace was founded to allow startups to develop strong, deep roots in Taiwan through these features:

  • By offering both quality customised services in an entrepreneurial environment and the support needed for the process of setting up startups. This allows startup teams to forge ahead towards their dreams without worries.
  • By fostering accelerated growth and the cooperation achieved through domestic and international links. These efforts enhance the value of startups and give their dreams the best launchpad to soar.

In addition to these, Startup Terrace also opens up an opportunity for resident businesses to conduct empirical experiments. The objective is to link up and cooperate with industries in the surrounding areas within a 2-kilometer radius. With the introduction of international accelerators that assist startups in expanding their global markets, members can connect with the global startup ecosystem.

With Startup Terrace connecting with the three major players — communities, industries, and global markets — Taiwan, in turn, gets plugged into the global market, making it an important base for exchanges and collaboration between international startups.

Linking up — the core of Startup Terrace

The theme of the launch event was “Link”, which sounds like “Linkou” – the name of the town where Startup Terrace sits. But more than just a name-play, the word also sums up the core of Startup Terrace’s reason for being; that is, to link up communities, industries, and the global market.

To further highlight this point, the launch ceremony opened with a performance by the Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Art Troupe. The display visually underscored the transformation of traditional industries, as well as the initiation of product applications realised by innovation and creativity.

Moreover, in response to the theme of the launch event, the consolidated energy of participating guests, startup businesses, and community residents were unified towards the goal to ‘Light up Linkou and Link up Taiwan with the World’.
